On 24.02.2023 the Society arranged a lecture on the topic ???CLASSIFICATION OF THE MINERAL DEPOSITS AND NATIONAL MINERAL POLICY??? by eminent geoscientist Shri Suresh Chander, Director, Geological Survey of India, Training Institute, Zawar, Udaipur. He is a recipient of National Mineral Award by Ministry of Mines. The Venue for this program was Hariyali Restaurant, Near Hotel Mukund Villas, Gulab Bagh Road, Udaipur, at 5.00PM. The lecture was delivered in the presence of august gathering of eminent geoscientists such as S/Shree P K Verdia, O S Siroya, S C Agarwal K P Agarwal, O P Mathur, N K Sahiwala, R L Jodhawat, N K Chauhan, Vinod Agarwal, K K Tiwari, K L Jagetiya, Shekhar Bhargav, Sunil Vashishth, Jayant Sharma, Ashok Paliwal, Arun Maloo etc. Shree Suresh Chander briefly discussed about the metallogeny of Rajasthan then he switched over to the classification of mineral deposits in accordance with the UNFC. He also discussed about the mandate of GSI is only up to G4 and G3 level only beyond that for G3 and G2 level other agencies like MECL, State DMGs or agencies approved by central government have the mandate. For G1 level only the mining companies carry out the exploration. Then he briefly discussed the National Mineral Policy 2019.

Shree V P Sharma introduced Shree Suresh Chander and memento was presented to him by Shree P K Verdia, Patron of the Society. Vote of thanks was presented by Shree G S Bhardwaj.
