Geoscientists society of Rajasthan celebrates World Geologist day.
Geoscientists Society of Rajasthan celebrated World Geologists day on first Sunday of April. The President Sh O S Siroya welcomed all the members. The members were shown a video film on Potla columnar joints of Kewadia hills of Madhya Pradesh which has a unique feature of horizontal to sub horizontal columnar joints. This can be developed as Geo tourist spot.
The members were also shown slides of some geological structures like fold and ripple marks around Fatehsagar and discussed to develop them as Geo-tourism spots.
The program ended with condolences to the departed members of the society during last year.
The program was conducted by Secretary Dr M K Somani.
राजस्थान भू-वैज्ञानिक सोसायटी ने विश्व भू-वैज्ञानिक दिवस मनाया।
राजस्थान भू-वैज्ञानिक सोसायटी ने अप्रैल के पहले रविवार को विश्व भू-वैज्ञानिक दिवस मनाया। अध्यक्ष श्री ओ.एस. सिरोया ने सभी सदस्यों का स्वागत किया। सदस्यों को मध्य प्रदेश की केवड़िया पहाड़ियों के पोटला कोलम्नर जोइंट पर एक वीडियो फिल्म दिखाई गई, जिसमें क्षैतिज से अधो क्षैतिज स्तंभ जोड़ों की अनूठी विशेषता है। इसे भू-पर्यटन स्थल के रूप में विकसित किया जा सकता है।
सदस्यों को फतेहसागर के आसपास फ़ोल्ड और रिप्पल मार्क जैसी कुछ भू-वैज्ञानिक संरचनाओं की स्लाइड भी दिखाई गई और उन्हें भू-पर्यटन स्थल के रूप में विकसित करने पर चर्चा की गई।
कार्यक्रम का समापन पिछले वर्ष सोसायटी के दिवंगत सदस्यों के प्रति संवेदना के साथ हुआ।
