The Geoscientists Society of Rajasthan, on 24.04.2024, under its project of handing over of rocks and minerals sample box, arranged a lecture of Dr . Maya Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Geology, Department, MLSU on *Awareness about subject Geology as profession* for the students of 8th to 12th classes at MDS School, Dheekli Road, Pratapnagar, Udaipur. It was an effective presentation for the students which was well received by the students and teachers of the school.
This is an effort to incite interest among the students towards subject geology since geology is not the part of academic curriculum in the schools. A sample box containing 12 samples of different rocks and minerals was also handed over on the occasion to the school along with details such as: where these minerals are found, produced, and utilised etc. In the beginning, the school management gave warm welcome to the members of the Geoscientists Society. Then, Dr M K Somani gave introduction of all the members of the Geoscientists society present on the occasion and also briefed about this project of distribution of rocks and minerals sample box in schools. The members present on the occasion, were S/Shree RL Shrimali, Ex- GM, HZL , K L Jagetiya, Ex- GM, ONGC, B S Yadav, Consultant, Ground Water, Dr. Shabbir Hussain, Ex-DDG, GSI and Dr Maya Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Geology Department, MLSU.
