At the behest of Shri B.S. Yadav of Paramount Geomin Consultants, a group of geoscientists consisting of Shri S. R. Jani, [Binani Cement], Dr. P.C. Avadich [University Geology Department] and Shri M.K. Somani, [IBM] requested Shri R.S. Sharma [Ex. Add. Director, DMG] to pave the path towards the formation of a purposeful association of Geoscientists at Rajasthan Level which in due course of time may spread all over the country. Under the able leadership of Shri Sharma, several round of meetings were held, along with some of the other like-minded geoscientists. Those who joined in initiation included Shri R.C. Saxena, Shri N.S. Khamesara, Shri Sudhir Bakshi, Dr. G.S. Bhardwaj.
Finally, “SATHI MILTE GAYE AUR KARVAN BANTA GAYA”. A joint appeal was signed by Shri R.S. Shrama, Shri S.N. Bhatnagar, Shri V.C. Garg, Shri N.S. Khamesara, Shri S.R. Jani, Dr. P.C. Avadich, Shri Sudhir Bakshi, Shri B.S. Yadav, Shri M.K. Somani and Dr. G.S. Bharadwaj. The response was overwhelming. More then seventy of us participated and gave vent to their feelings and desire to serve the country through association and work towards the development of geoscience.
A general meeting of the geoscientists in Udaipur was held on 15th Jan 2006 to officially formulate the “GEOSCIENTISTS SOCIETY OF RAJASTHAN, UDAIPUR”.
